Ms Havelka made the leap back to classical ballet when the Australian Ballet invited her to join the company in 2012, but mentally and physically she said it was a stretch. Instead, she joined the Indigenous dance company Bangarra for four years, where she had to learn a new contemporary and cultural style of dance. When the Australian Ballet did not offer her a spot their school after finishing high school, Ms Havelka was crushed.
